A Few Pics of My B-Day Weekend!

I had an absolutely amazing and memorable birthday weekend!  I actually survived not having my laptop with me for 2 days and 2 nights.  Wow!

The Ritz was great and they upgraded our room to an awesome suite!  Thanks, Margie… you are the best!  Since Darren started working at the Hyatt 5 years ago, we have been so spoiled and have seen our fair share of hotel suites – from Kauai to San Francisco to New York City…  This suite was almost as nice as the Grand Hyatt Kauai one that we stayed at last year for our anniversary.  You can see the pictures HERE.

We spent most of our time eating and laying out by the pool.  I also treated myself to a much needed Lomi Lomi massage on Sunday morning. Hmmm… not sure how I can ever top this birthday!

One of the 2 bathrooms – love the double sink!  It had a walk-in closet, a separate room for the bath-tub/shower and another room for the toilet!

Mahalo to my “Pacific WEDDINGS Magazine” ohana!

I have mentioned it before on my blog and I will mention it again – I am truly blessed to be working in such a wonderful industry.  Not only are we all very passionate about what we do and we inspire each other daily, but we are also a very close knit community.

One of my inspirations come from the beautiful Pacific WEDDINGS magazine.  I have been a fan since I started planning my own wedding back in 2004, now that I am in the wedding industry I get to know the entire PWM ohana (family) very well.

Recently when I went to visit them at the office, they surprised me with my birthday gifts – chocolates and a sensational book on cakes by the amazing Sylvia Weinstock (she just became my Facebook friend, how cool is that?)  :)  I have been searching for a wedding cake book to add to my library for quite some time now, but I haven’t found one that I like yet until I got this book.

It’s my BIG birthday today…

As you are reading this post, Darren and I are still “staycationing” at the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua for my 40th birthday.  Yes, that’s where we have been at this whole weekend!  During one of his Manager’s Meetings at work a few months ago, Darren won a 2-night deluxe accommodation at the Ritz and the certificate is good till the end of this year.  Since it’s still our busy wedding season right now and I can’t really take much time off work, we decided to use that certificate this past weekend so that I could at least take 3 days off and relax for my special day.  Hopefully next year when Darren has his mile-stone birthday, we can both celebrate together and go on this Panama Canal cruise that we originally planned to have earlier.
