Welcome to the newly redesigned Away Soiree Fine Art Destination Wedding blog. We would like to kick off our very first official post with a Los Barilles Mexico Destination Wedding in Mexico by the amazing Jose Villa. This wedding is not just any other destination wedding. The bride herself is actually the fashion and design blog editor, Erin Hiemstra of Apartment 34. With the incredible talent of her destination wedding team, Erin was able to have a simple yet stylish wedding with all of her close families and friends.
Although we’d like to think most girls spend their entire lives dreaming about their wedding even before Prince Charming is in the picture, but for Erin, she barely gave it any thought of what her wedding was going to look like until her Prince went down on one bended knee to propose to her at the home plate of her favorite baseball team – the Seattle Mariners. She knew they wanted a simple, low key and meaningful celebration, and since Mexico has always been a favorite for family vacations, it was only fitting that they had their destination wedding in Los Barilles. It was still a perfect day despite the power outages, no running water and crazy wind.
In order to pull off a destination wedding in a country that English is not a first language, Erin scoured through the world of wedding blogs for ideas and inspirations. With the help from a team of amazing friends, wedding vendors and designers, the whole planning process turned out way better than what Erin might have dreamed.
