Ivanka’s Perfect Day — Inside the Wedding!
You might not have been invited to Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner’s wedding, but HollywoodLife.com can take you inside the super-romantic day!
Trump, 27 and New York Observer owner Kushner, 28, were wed in a traditional Jewish ceremony Sunday at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, presided by well-known New York Rabbi Haskel Lookstein. Ivanka — who recently wrote “The Trump Card” — converted to Judiasm in order to marry Kushner, who proposed to her in July. But she must have been planning for the wedding long before their engagement! The elaborate 500-person event included celebs like Russell Crowe, Natalie Portman, Barbara Walters, and Regis Philbin, who sang during the reception.
Other New York big wigs toasted the couple as well. New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, Fox News/New York Post owner Rupert Murdoch and his wife Wendi, and Time’s Jim Kelly attended, along with the former editor of the Observer Peter Kaplan, and current editor Tom McGevern.
Their ceremony began at 4:00 pm, followed by a reception, where “everybody danced.” The bride’s father Donald Trump told People.com, “It was a great wedding. I’m very happy. They’re really a beautiful, smart couple.”
The bride was”absolutely stunning … just like Grace Kelly,” one guest tells Hollywood Life. She wore a Vera Wang gown, accenting it with a platinum diamond hair piece, earrings, and bracelet from her personal line, Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry. Her make-up and hair were done by Alexa Rodulfo, who styles Italian fashion designer Margherita Missoni and American designer Carolina Herrera. Her bridesmaids included her half-sister Tiffany Trump and sister-in-law Vanessa Trump, wife of brother Donald, Jr.
We hear the couple’s first dance as husband and wife was to David Gray’s “This Year’s Love.” Guest and Ivanka pal Emmy Rossum Tweeted from the event: “Ivanka looks beautiful in her lace Vera Wang.”
Ivanka’s wedding designer Preston Bailey, tells Hollywood Life exclusively, “It was a pleasure working with Ivanka because she has impeccable style. The inspiration for her wedding celebration were hues of classic white with luxurious accents of pink and gold, with sensuous red spaces.”
As the reception came to an end, guests feasted on a 13-layer wedding cake with chocolate, carrot, almond and yellow cake flowers. The cake maker Syliva Weinstock told People.com, “The cake was amazing. It was 70 inches on the table with about 13 layers. Each layer was ringed with lisianthus, roses, peonies, Lilies of the Valley, and baby’s breath.”
Earlier in the day on Sunday, Trump, 27, updated her Twitter account before her nuptials, writing, “Just finished a gorgeous hike. The leaves are spectacular and the sun is shining. Everything is simply perfect! I’m getting married today!”
But the gorgeous weather was a result of rescheduling. One guest told us, “The Rabbi said during the ceremony that he was so grateful Jared and Ivanka postponed their original date. They had wanted to be married on the 18th, but the Rabbi was not available, so they moved it to the 25th. And of course, on the 18th, it poured all day and the weather was horrible.”
The newlyweds held a second reception at the Puck building in Manhattan this past Wednesday, hosted by the Kushner family, and they jetted off to Africa where they will spend their honeymoon.
