Besides the wedding day, a lot of destination brides ask me for suggestions on other events during their wedding week. The most popular one being the Welcome Dinner/Reception.

Although a Welcome Reception is a great way to invite all of your out-of-town guests to get together for the very first time, there is no rule that it has to be a dinner reception or a formal event. After all, you want to save the most formal event for your wedding day.

I have had a few clients who hosted casual BBQs, but if you LOVE dessert like I do, how about a dessert reception with different types of little pastries, cookies, chocolates and fun, sweet snacks? And who doesn’t like dessert, right? Your guests will sure enjoy them and the company and being at a vacation destination!
