“Wedding Day”

My good friend, Jennifer, just tagged me on Facebook with a survey on our wedding day.  I thought I would post the answers here and share it with everyone.  All photos were taken by Eugene Kam.

1) When was your wedding day?

June 2nd, 2005

2) What day of the week was it?

Thursday

3) Did you get married in a church?
No

4) How many in your wedding party?
4 bridesmaids, 4 groomsmen, 1 flower girl and 1 ring bearer

5) How many guests were invited to your wedding?
100 attended

6) How long were you together before the engagement?
1 year and 9 months (met on April 3rd, 2002)

7) How long did you wait to Tie The Knot after your proposal?
1 year and 4 months (engaged on January 18th, 2004).  I told my hubby that I needed at least a year to plan the wedding, and I also wanted to be a June bride!  :)

8) Did you register for gifts? If yes, where?

Yes - the Department of Treasury!

9) Who did you hire as your photographer & videographer?
Photographer:  Eugene Kam; Videographer: None

10) Did you have a DJ or a band?
DJ

11) What was your First dance to?
“Ku’u Aloha” by Fiji

12) Did your father walk you down the aisle?
Yes!

13) What color were the bridesmaids’ dresses and groomsmen’s vests?
Periwinkle

14) Did you have a bridal shower?
No

15) What type of limo did you get?
Didn’t have one - got ready at the resort that we had the wedding

16) What were your flowers?
Blue hydrangeas, freesias, white dendrobium orchids, cream roses, green hypericum berries.  They were all done by Yvonne Floral & Event Design.

17) What flavor was your cake?
We had 3″ individual vanilla cakes with mango mousse filling inside, shredded coconut outside and periwinkle whipped cream frosting

18) Where did you go for your Bachelorette / Bachelor Party?
Didn’t have one

19) What type of wedding gown?
2-piece Maggie Sottero “Royal Romance” in light gold with corset back, embroidery, cording, Swarovski crystals, bugle beads, seed beads, chapel train, matching purse and stole.

20) What was the weather like that day?
It drizzled in the morning (a blessing), but gorgeous and sunny and not a cloud in the sky in the afternoon when the ceremony started at 5:30 pm.

21) Did you have an open bar?
Yes

22) Where did you go on your Honeymoon?
We had a “mini-moon” on Kauai and then had to fly back to San Francisco to pack up our apartment.  We moved to Maui on June 17th, 2005, just 2 weeks after our wedding (due to my hubby’s job transfer).  I guess we are still on our honeymoon!  :)

23) What was your favorite thing about your wedding day?
I married my very best friend!

24) Did anything go wrong?
Not at all… everything was perfect!

25) How long have you been married?
3 years and 9 months

    I wanted cupcakes for my wedding and yours are great too!

    Hi Jessie,

    Mary Catherine’s Bakery in Honolulu made our mini cakes. I think they are bought out by Cake Works now. Google them and you will find it.
